The Horizon 2020 programme offers support for research, technological development and innovation in an international context. This research and innovation programme has plenty of opportunities for the creative industries.
Horizon 2020 offers knowledge institutions, companies and individual scientific researchers the opportunity to finance an innovative project, recruit and support for researchers, expand their international network and acquire new knowledge and expertise. As a creative partner in a consortium, you can contribute to finding new applications for innovative technologies, new forms of public reach and involvement, and new forms of collaboration and knowledge transfer.
Horizon 2020 will publish several open calls. Now that the current programme is coming to an end, the number of open topics that require innovative solutions with a creative aspect is limited. All open calls are published on the website of the European Commission.
From 2021, Horizon 2020 will be succeeded by the Horizon Europe 2021–2027 programme. This programme is currently being designed and as yet has no specific content. It is known that the emphasis on social impact will become even stronger, which will also increase the opportunities for the creative industries. The new open calls are expected to be published in 2021 on the website of the European Commission.
